Hip Hop rapper Lil Wayne observed some comfort in recalling his first encounter with Hip-Hop boss Jay Z at a point when he broke up with his girl friend, Christina Milian, and being fined $2 million in back debt on his private jet.
The rapper admitted during a recent interview with ESPN‘s Cari Champion’s podcast that Jay Z’s voice on his phone for the very first time is an experience he will never forget.
“I remember receiving a text notifying me Jay would call me,” Wayne explained. “It’s crazy how something like that, something so specific could make you feel solidified… That phone call right there was serious for me. I remember exactly where I was. I remember telling everybody in the garage to shut up. He didn’t really say much, but ‘what’s up little homie. I see you.'”
Weezy was also proud to be New Orleans native, who’s a huge east coast fan, to the dismay of ex-partner Birdman and has an annual Lil Weezyana Fest which helps raise funds for different things like victims of the Hurricane Katrina via music.
“I brought out every era of New Orleans music, up until me and my music, and it was crazy for me to be able to be the last man standing,” Wayne said.
