Amaechi also added that Wike was paying the said sum to Mrs. Jonathan in order to gain political favour.

Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State has alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Nyesom Wike pays a sum of $1 million (N199M) to First Lady, Patience Jonathan monthly.
Amaechi also added that Wike was paying the said sum to Mrs. Jonathan in order to gain political favour.
The
governor stated this on Saturday, March 21, during a praise and worship
session organized by the Ikwerre Youth Movement and the Ikwerre Women
Forum at the Isiokpo area of the state.
“Do
you know that the PDP governorship candidate, Nyesom Wike, has been
giving one million dollars monthly to the wife of the President, Mrs
Patience Jonathan? He has been doing this to gain political favour in
the Presidency and to retain the favour,” Amaechi said.
Wike
however denied the allegation saying that it was “simply aimed at
diverting the attention of the public from the monumental corruption
under Amaechi’s leadership.”
Amaechi had also earlier accused Wike and Mrs Jonathan of colluding to cause havoc during an All Progressives Congress (APC) rally in the Okrika area of the state, where the First Lady hails from.
